Haley is here!!!

Haley is finally here. She arrived on March 26, 2009 at 6:25 pm. She was 7 lbs. 15 oz and 20.5 inches long. Labor and delivery was very difficult and long and ended up in an unexpected c-section, but Haley arrived in perfect health and that is all that matters. She is the best baby and has been eating really well. We are headed to the pediatrician tomorrow for a follow-up appointment and we should see if she has gained any weight. I am feeling better every day and I could not be more thrilled to have her here. We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and generosity from everyone we know. We are so blessed in so many ways. Thank you to everyone for all of the well wishes.

Tomorrow is the big day!

Tomorrow is Haley's birthday. We are spending tonight celebrating my mom's birthday and preparing for a long day tomorrow. We have to be at the hospital at 6 am and hope to have her by the afternoon. I will post pictures as soon as I can. We are really excited but equally as nervous.

38 weeks - one week to go!!

I am 38 weeks today and in one week, we will have our little girl. I had a doctor's visit today and I am still 1cm but 75% effaced. Not much progress. The doctor seems to think that if I were to wait until Haley wants to come on her own, that she would be too big and I would have to have a C-section. Therefore, it's a good thing that we have scheduled the induction. I am supposed to go in at 6am on Thursday the 26th, and hopefully she will be here by the afternoon. Scott and I are getting very nervous at this point. We really hope that the labor will go well, and that we will be good parents.

We have been working on the nursery, and aside from hanging things on the walls and putting up the tie-backs on the curtains, it is pretty much ready. Here are some pictures of it so far. It looks great and Jenny did an AMAZING job on all of the sewing!!

37 weeks

I will be 37 weeks tomorrow!! That officially makes Haley full-term. I think I have everything ready for the most part. There is still some decorating to do in the nursery, but everything is washed and all of the clothes are put away. I had a doctor's appointment today. There has not been any further progress this week. I am still only 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. It looks like she is happy where she is right now. My doctor put me "on the books" to be induced on the 26th if she does not come any sooner. We have to go in early that morning and hopefully she will be with us by the afternoon that day. We could not be more excited or anxious. It's all downhill from here.

Family and friend shower - March 7,2009

I had the family and friend shower this past Saturday. It was more wonderful than I could have imagined. Jenny did such a good job putting everything together. It was beautifully decorated and the food was so good! I was so amazed at the turnout and I feel so lucky to have such kind and generous friends and family. I can't thank everyone enough for all that they did. Haley is the luckiest little girl in the world.
