A trip to the grandparents' and a month old

Scott went out of town this past weekend, so his parents invited Haley and me over for a sleepover. We had such a wonderful time with them. We took pictures, napped, ate well, swam in the big tub, and just visited. Even though they live in town, we don't get a lot of time together to just visit. Haley loved it and got to do a lot of sleeping on the screened in porch. The temperature was just perfect and she was in heaven on their soft glider.

On Sunday, Haley turned a month old. I can't believe how fast the time is going. She is so much fun and is much more alert now. She can lift her head like I've never seen a baby her age do. She makes the cutest faces and seems to recognize mommy and daddy's voices. She was 9 pounds 7 ounces on Tuesday the 21st. So I imagine she is close to 10 pounds now. She is already growing out of some of her clothes. She is getting that chubby baby look that is so adorable. We are so in love with her!

We are off to see her Mimi and Pop and Uncle Blake (my dad, stepmom and brother) this coming weekend. It will be our first big out of town trip for an extended period. It will be a lot of fun and we can't wait.

Being a bad girl and sucking her thumb. This is not ok with mommy!

Swimming in the big tub. She loved it and floated around with almost no support from us.

Three weeks old!

Haley is three weeks old today. She seems to be growing so fast. She is doing very well and still the perfect baby. We introduced the bottle to her last night. Scott fed her for the first time. It was so sweet and very emotional for me. It was so wonderful that Scott got to feed her and share that special bond. She did very well with the bottle and took to it immediately. She took 4 ounces with no problem. It's nice to know that now others can feed her if necessary. Of course, I got pictures of it. I also took some pictures of her today for her three week birthday.

Here she is with her eyes crossed. She does this quite often. It always makes us laugh.

Happy Easter

Haley had a wonderful first Easter. On the Saturday before Easter, we went to Atlanta to meet the Jaquith side of the family then we stopped in Anniston, AL to meet the Reynolds great grandparents. She got to meet so many people that day. Then on Easter, her "Aunt" Sarah and "Uncle" Matt stopped by to see her for the first time since we came home from the hospital. We ended the weekend with a wonderful dinner with her grandparents. She seemed to enjoy meeting everyone and slept through most of it (that's how I know she likes something). She is such a lucky, loved baby. Thank you to Lindsay Ward for taking some of these pictures!

2 weeks old

I can hardly believe it, but Haley is now 2 weeks old (as of yesterday). She has grown and changed so much. I barely remember what it was like before she was in our lives. We are so in love with her. The last two weeks have flown by. We saw the doctor today and she is up to 8 lbs. 8 oz. and 21.5 inches (up from 7lbs. 15oz. and 20.5in at birth). I'm such a proud momma. She is doing everything so well. I could not be more lucky to have such a good baby.

My mom has been here helping since her birth and left yesterday. She helped us more than she will ever know and it has already been very hard not having her here. She will be back very soon though and I know Haley already misses her and her calming ways.

Haley got to meet some very important people this week. She met her "aunt" Emily who is my first cousin. Since I don't have any sisters, Emily has offered to be her "aunt". Emily has always been like a sister to me, so this is very fitting. She also met her Uncle Philip and his girlfriend Suzanne. It's really been a fantastic week except for my mom leaving. Here are some recent pics.

Trip to the Botanical Gardens

On Saturday, we took a family trip out to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. My mom, Scott, Haley and I met Scott's parents out there and we got to take lots of pictures with the flowers that are blooming so far. It was so nice to get out and enjoy the BEAUTIFUL day. I think that Haley enjoyed it, but she slept through the whole thing. Here are some of the pictures.

Life is Good!

We are having a fabulous time getting to know our little girl. She is so much fun already! We love looking at her precious little expressions and getting to know her temperament. She is so calm and doesn't really get upset about much (except diaper changes). She is such a good eater and has gained weight. She is now back up to her birth weight and continuing to grow. We had some professional pictures done and I will let you all know when they are posted. The photographer did post a sneak peek that I will post on here. I personally think she is the cutest baby I've ever seen :). I can't wait for everyone to meet her and fall in love with her as Scott and I have. Thanks to everyone for all of the well wishes and prayers during her first week. She is truly perfect to us! First doctor's visit. She's so calm before we see the doctor! Actually, she was very good the whole time.
Bath time. Can you tell that she enjoys it?

Tummy time. Can you tell that she enjoys it? It really seems like we torture her by these pictures, but we don't, I promise. These just make the cutest pictures.

This is what she did after daddy came home sweaty from the gym and held her. It was priceless. I always tell him how stinky he is. Now maybe he'll believe me.
