Two months old

Haley is two months old today. It is so amazing how fast she has grown and all of the new things she can do. In the last month, she has started smiling, laughing, cooing, putting her hand in her mouth and really focuses on our faces more. We have a fun time letting her stand on our bellies. She is so strong that she almost does it without any support. She loves doing it and makes the cutest face of concentration when she is up there. Last night, she slept for 6 hours straight for the first time. Of course, I didn't go to sleep when she did, so I only slept for three hours of that. I have a feeling it was a fluke, but maybe she is starting something new. It sure would be nice to sleep more than three hours at a time.

We went to the pediatrician today and she was weighed, checked out, and received her first shots. The shots were traumatic for the both of us. We both cried. She checked out well and everything looks good. She is now 11 pounds 7 ounces which is the 50th percentile for weight and she is 24 1/4 inches which is the 95th percentile for height! I'm so proud of her. She is such a big girl.

Here are pictures from today. She went through several emotional phases today as you will see.

Those three were before the shots. She was so cute and didn't suspect a thing. I felt so guilty because I knew what was coming.

These two were after the shots. She turned purple during the shots because she was so mad. Even though I give shots to babies for a living, I still had the hardest time seeing her go through it. I know it's for her own good though, but she doesn't understand that yet.

Then, when we got back home, she was acting too cute...for a while. She later had a huge melt down and cried like I've never seen before. A little baby Tylenol made it all better though.

She has only been pooping once a week, so when she does finally go, it's a doozy. This is her face while she is pooping.

Here she is sticking out her tongue. I have managed to teach her to do this because I wanted to see if her thrush was getting better. She always laughs when I do it and she tries and tries to do it herself. She finally did it!!

These are her two month pictures.

This is her most precious frown. She does this when she is about to melt down and we think it's the cutest thing.

The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades!

This picture is just so cute that I have to post it. I got sunglasses for Haley for our upcoming beach trip. I had to put them on her the other night to see how they fit. I also have a few more pictures of her smiling. Again, they are blurry because she was moving. We go to the doctor on Tuesday for her shots. I dread that part, but I can't wait to see how much she weighs and how long she is. I'll let you all know, of course. I can't believe she is about to be two months old!!

Finally in her crib

Haley is finally sleeping in her crib. I put her in it for the first time the other day, and she is now in it all the time. I wanted to get her used to it before it was too late. We have this fantastic video monitor that allows us to see and hear her in other rooms. I must say that it is more difficult for me because I have to walk to the other side of the house to feed her, but it will be worth it. She is still only sleeping 3 to 4 hours between feeds, but hopefully that will start getting longer soon. She is also starting to smile a lot. I have caught her smiling at all kinds of things like her carseat and flowers. I can't get her to smile for me and the camera though. I swear she knows what I am trying to do. She is so adorable when she smiles though. It takes over her whole face. Scott and I are making fools out of ourselves trying to make her smile. It's so much fun!

Mother's Day

We had a fantastic Mother's Day weekend. Haley and I went to Atlanta on Saturday to spend the night with some friends. Haley got to meet her first boyfriends, Dylan and Connor. They are the twins of one of my best friends, Kris. They turned 6 months this past Saturday, so they are just a little older than Haley. The three of them had a great time playing. I didn't take many pictures though because we all had our hands full. Not only were we taking care of three babies, but there were three dogs as well. One of the dogs was a puppy which is a lot like a baby. It was a crazy experience, but a ton of fun.

On Sunday, we headed over to Anniston, AL to meet up with Scott's family for lunch. We ate at a fantastic restaurant there and had a great visit with the family. I didn't get many pictures of that either. I wasn't very good this weekend with the pictures.
Haley did give me a couple of great gifts for Mother's Day. The best one being that she started smiling at people on purpose!! She doesn't do it a lot, but her "Aunt" Sarah got her to do it several times on purpose and her daddy has gotten her to do it too. She doesn't do it much for me. I did get a two pictures of her doing it but they are a little blurry because she was moving. It's the best thing in the world when she does it. I cry every time. She also got me a massage at a spa and I can't wait to have that done. Here are some of the pictures I did get.
Here are some of the girls we hung out with in Atlanta and the babies. It is: Kathryn Prock, Dara Bechtol and her son Davis, Kris with Dylan, Sarah with Connor, me and Haley.

Memphis was so fun!

This past weekend, we all went to Memphis so that Haley could meet some more relatives. We had a fantastic time. Thanks to my fantastic dad and stepmom, I got to sleep through the night for the first time since the night before Haley was born. They were so sweet to sleep downstairs with her and bottle feed her through the night. They got very little sleep, but I slept so well. I can't thank them enough for doing that for me.

Haley had a fantastic time with her Mimi and Pop, Uncle Blake, Great Grandfather, Aunt Cissy, Uncle Stewart and the whole Madden family. She got to watch golf on TV, experience Pete and Sam's for the first time, and sleep of course. We hate that the trip was so short, but we plan to go back very soon.
